Reconstructing a prewar Duesenberg Model J from historical photos - New technologies in CAD and Engineering meet the old world craft of coachbuilding. This project covers exhaustive research efforts, interpreting images over 3D scanned data to plot the original body styling and details.
The past is a limited resource, and there are only so many classic cars in existence.
With only 450 Duesenberg Model J’s created, about 8 of them were known to have a distinctive tapered-tail design, the Fernandez Et Darrin J-373 Speedster remains one of the most elusive examples lost to history. Partnering with LaVine Restorations, research with Randy Ema and Straight Eight, this massive endeavor meticulously brings a significant piece of the Duesenberg marque back to life.
